ToroHealth Damage Indicators | Health Bar Mod
ToroHealth Damage Indicators adds a configurable health bar and damage numbers for the mob in your crosshairs, plus optional in-world bars and damage particles.
ToroHealth Damage Indicators is a client-side HUD mod that surfaces mob health the moment you need it. Point your crosshair at any mob, NPC, or player and a compact health bar slides into the top-left corner. The bar carries the entity name, numeric and bar health, and the damage it just took, so you always know how close a fight is to finishing.
Health Bars Above Every Mob
The original ToroHealth pinned one bar in the top-left for whatever your crosshair landed on. This port keeps that behavior and animates the lost health in a darker shade above the remaining bar, so a chunk of damage you just dealt stays visible for a beat before fading. Numeric health sits beside the bar, which helps when you are comparing tough mobs or judging whether one more hit will drop a boss.

Damage Numbers Above Heads
Beyond the corner HUD, damage indicators pop above the entity's head each time it takes a hit. The floating number shows the exact damage dealt, handy for testing weapons or figuring out why a hit landed weaker than expected. Pair it with the bar and you get both a glanceable summary and a per-hit breakdown.

Configuring Bars, Colors, and Position
ToroHealth is highly customizable. Open the config to change the size, color, and position of the health bars and damage numbers, and toggle individual features such as damage particles and in-world health bars on or off.

The in-world bar is off by default. To turn it on, set inWorld.mode to ALWAYS (it ships as NONE). Once enabled, a small bar floats above every nearby mob instead of only the one in your crosshair, which is useful on crowded farms or during raids.

For a broader health-bar setup that covers more mob types, you can also look at Provis Health Bars.
Installing ToroHealth
ToroHealth runs client-side, so it only needs to live on your own game rather than on the server. Drop the matching jar into your mods folder after installing Minecraft Forge or NeoForge. For the general walkthrough on placing mods and loading them, see the Minecraft mods install guide. The port loads as a Forge or NeoForge mod, so pick the file that matches your loader and Minecraft build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ToroHealth Damage Indicators still maintained?
The unofficial port's last release is from March 2024. Check the project page for current status before building a pack around it.
Does it need to run on the server?
No. It is client-side, so you can add it to your own client without the server running it.
Can I see health bars on every mob at once?
Yes. The in-world bar is disabled by default, but setting inWorld.mode to ALWAYS puts a small bar above nearby mobs.
Can I move or recolor the health bar?
Yes. The config screen exposes size, color, and position for both the health bar and the damage numbers.
Does it work with other HUD mods?
It generally coexists with other client HUD mods, but if two mods claim the same screen corner, move one in its config to avoid overlap.
