Goofy Goober | Cartoon Slapstick Mod

Cartoon chaos lands in Minecraft with the Goofy Goober mod, a Forge-only joke mod from leecrafts that drags Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry slapstick straight into your survival world. Players and mobs get squashed, fattened, launched, and tangled in dust clouds, all backed by goofy sound effects. It is not built to be fair, so think twice before dropping it into a Hardcore run.

What the Goofy Goober mod does

The mod rewrites how bodies, eating, and combat play out. Nearly every mechanic is a cartoon gag with a real gameplay cost attached.

Squished, smashed, and crashed flat

Fall 20 blocks or more and you flatten into a Squashed pancake. The same thing happens when an iron golem whacks you, an anvil or falling stalactite drops on your head, or you slam into a wall while flying on elytra. Those wall crashes and skedaddle collisions instead apply a Crashed or Smashed effect that squashes you along the x or z axis. How long the effect lasts depends on what hit you.

Eat a whole stack, get comically fat

You can eat an entire stack of food from one inventory slot in a single sitting. Do it and you balloon into a Fat version of yourself three times as wide, picking up Slowness and Resistance alongside it. How long and how strong the effects are depends on the food's saturation, nutrition, and how many items you ate. Then you let out a loud, rude burp.

Skedaddle and the devious walk

Press V to toggle Skedaddle. When you try to run, you jog in place for one second with a silly animation, then burst away with Speed II for 20 seconds. While winding up you briefly take Slowness VII. Crash into a wall mid-skedaddle and you eat 6 damage plus the Crashed or Smashed effect. Sneak while skedaddling and you switch to a devious walk that lowers how far hostile mobs can sense you.

Fight clouds, panic noises, and extra chaos

When mobs trade blows, a dust cloud puffs up around them with goofy fight sounds. If three or more hostile mobs gather near a brawl, the mod can summon a cluster of extra chaotic mobs like wither skeletons, spiders, magma cubes, polar bears, and zombified piglins, on a two-minute cooldown. Panicking mobs add skedaddling noises to the mess. Sleeping villagers snore, players touching powder snow without leather armor chatter their teeth, and dying players laugh.

A hunger hallucination rounds out the gags. Drop to 9 hunger or below and every living entity around you looks like a steak slab.

Installing Goofy Goober

This is a Forge mod, so the setup follows the standard Forge route.

1. Install Minecraft Forge matching your game version.
2. Drop the Goofy Goober JAR into your mods folder.
3. Launch the game through the Forge profile.

Is Goofy Goober still being maintained?

The last release is from December 2023, and the author has said they are no longer interested in updating the mod beyond possible version bumps. Treat it as finished, and check the project page for any current status before relying on it.

Does it work in multiplayer?

Yes. The mod runs on both singleplayer and multiplayer, but the server and every connecting client need it installed so the effects stay in sync.

Is it safe for Hardcore worlds?

Not really. The mod is openly designed to be unfair, and the extra mob summoning around big fights can overwhelm you fast. Keep it to softcore worlds unless you enjoy the risk.

Does it need any other mods to run?

No required dependencies. Install Forge, add the JAR, and you are done.
