TugkanDeMan's Weaponry expands Minecraft combat with a lineup of vanilla-friendly swords, maces, axes, and gauntlets. Each weapon has its own crafting path and effect, from life-stealing blades to glass swords that shatter mid-fight. The mod leans into the existing combat loop instead of rewriting it, so the new gear slots naturally into survival and adventure play.

Soulmetal, Bloodthirster, and the standout swords

Soulmetal Sword. Built to shred Piglin-type mobs. Pack your Steel Sword into the Soulsand Valley, gather Soul Fire, and the blade converts into the Soulmetal Sword once you have absorbed enough.

Bloodthirster. A smithing-table upgrade that pairs a Netherite Sword with a Totem of Undying. The lower your health drops, the more each hit heals you, which makes it a strong pick against tanky mobs.

Glass Rapier. One iron ingot and two glass blocks yield a sword that hits as hard as iron for half the cost. The catch is that it can shatter at random during combat. Its high enchantability rewards investing enchantments before a big fight.

Katana. Combine a Netherite Sword with Netherite Scrap in the smithing table. While holding the Katana under a speed effect, you gain strength, and the effect works with potions, beacons, and the speed granted by holding it in your off-hand.

Maces, axes, and the stun mechanic

Beyond swords, the mod adds maces and axes built around a stun ability. Landing hits with these heavier weapons can briefly stagger enemies, which gives you a window to reposition or follow up. They cover the slower, heavier end of the kit and pair well with the faster swords above.

How to install TugkanDeMan's Weaponry

The mod runs on Forge, so install Forge first, then drop the matching JAR into your mods folder. If you want a refresher on the full workflow, see our guide to installing Minecraft mods. Forge is the only loader the project targets, so a Fabric setup will not load it.

Pair it with Better Combat

The project recommends running Better Combat by Daedalus alongside it. Better Combat smooths out attack animations and combos, which makes the new swords and maces feel as good as they look. It is a recommendation rather than a requirement, so the mod loads fine on its own.

Frequently asked questions

Is TugkanDeMan's Weaponry still maintained? The last release is from September 2023. Check the project page for current status before building a long-term world around it.

Do I need any other mods? There are no required dependencies. Better Combat is the only suggested companion, and only for nicer attack animations.

Does it work in multiplayer? Yes. It loads on both the client and the server, so it fits survival servers and custom adventure maps.

Are the weapons enchanted like vanilla gear? Most of them support standard enchantments. The Glass Rapier in particular has high enchantability, so it is worth enchanting before a tough fight.

Is it compatible with other combat overhauls? It pairs cleanly with Better Combat. For other combat mods, test in a backup world first, since this mod adds its own weapon behaviors that can overlap with theirs.
