If you spend your sessions scouting bases from a ridge, tracking mobs across an open field, or recording gameplay, holding up a spyglass every few seconds wears thin fast. Zoomify is built for exactly that kind of player. It puts zoom on a single keybind, runs entirely on your client, and hands you control over every detail, from zoom amount to how the transition feels. There are no hard-coded values anywhere in the mod. Around 73 million players have downloaded it, and development is active, with the most recent update in October 2026.

Scroll Zoom and Smart Keybind Detection

Zoomify binds zoom to the C key by default. One thing trips up new users. Minecraft ships a keybind that overrides Zoomify out of the box, so open the controls menu and make sure nothing conflicts with the zoom key. A conflicting bind shows up red. If you miss the check anyway, the mod has your back. Smart keybind detection notices the conflict on first launch and pops a notification telling you about it.

Once zoom is live, you are not stuck at one magnification. Scroll your wheel while zoomed to push in even closer. Sweeping from a wide view down to a tight one takes a second, and no menus are involved.

Spyglass Integration and Smooth Camera Options

Zoomify works with the spyglass, and you choose how. Configure it so zoom only works while you are holding or carrying a spyglass. Or override the spyglass zoom entirely and let Zoomify take over the key. You can even show the spyglass overlay and play spyglass sound effects while zooming, so the effect still feels vanilla. If you enjoy spyglass-focused playstyles, our post on Spyglass of Curios covers a hands-free spyglass mod that pairs well here.

The camera options are where this mod pulls ahead of basic zoom mods. Cinematic camera mode smooths your mouse movement while zoomed, so pans look steady instead of twitchy. Relative sensitivity drops your mouse sensitivity based on how far you are zoomed, which keeps fine aim possible at high magnification. Relative view bobbing scales the head bob down while zoomed, so you can walk and zoom at the same time without the screen bouncing. You can also turn off the affect hand FOV setting, which keeps your held item at normal size while the world zooms in.

Transitions, Presets, and a Creator-Focused Secondary Zoom

Every zoom animation is your call. Zoomify includes 14 transitions, from instant and linear to eased curves like ease in sine, ease out cubic, and ease in/out exponential. You can pick one transition for zooming in and a different one for zooming out. That small touch lets the zoom feel exactly how you want it.

Not in the mood to tune sliders? Presets sort you out. Reset everything to default, or apply a preset that recreates the feel of the classic zoom mod most players grew up with.

Content creators get their own lane. Secondary zoom is a completely separate zoom from the main one, built for recording. It adds a Hide HUD While Zooming option and longer zoom in times, so your clips show the scene instead of your hotbar. If you like controlling what appears on screen, our Auto HUD post covers a mod that hides interface elements dynamically.

How to Install Zoomify

Zoomify is a client-side mod. Servers do not need it, and the mod does not support server-side installation.

  1. Install a supported loader first. Zoomify runs on Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt. New to loaders? Our Fabric install guide and NeoForge install guide walk through both step by step.
  2. Download Zoomify from the official project page.
  3. Drop the jar file into your mods folder.
  4. Launch the game. The mod loads on the client, so there is no server setup.
  5. Open the controls menu and confirm the Zoomify keybind, C by default, has no conflict showing red.
  6. Open the settings with the /zoomify command or the Mod Menu settings button, then tune your zoom.

Zoomify FAQ

Is Zoomify client-side only?

Yes. It is required on the client and unsupported on the server. You install it on your game, and servers do not run it.

How do I open the Zoomify settings?

Two ways. Run the /zoomify client command, or use the settings button in Mod Menu. Every value in the mod is configurable, and there are no hard-coded numbers.

Does Zoomify have presets?

Yes. You can reset to the default behavior or apply presets that recreate other zoom styles, including the classic one many players know.

Is Zoomify still maintained?

Yes. Development is active, and the most recent update released in October 2026.
