Dishes With Real Spawn Effects

The headline feature is the curry and sandwich system, lifted straight from the Pokemon games that inspired Cobblemon. Eating one of these meals before you head out applies a spawn power, which shifts what appears around you. The effect only kicks in when your biome actually supports the target, so a Fire-type dish eaten inside an icy biome will do nothing. Stack effects from different foods to narrow your hunt even further.

Cobblemon ships 18 type-reducing berries plus the rare Enigma Berry. CobbleCuisine lets you roast each of them, and a roasted berry can trigger a Tera Type Spawn. If you are after a specific Tera Type for a build, this is the cleanest way to bait it into spawning rather than waiting on pure luck.

Sweet Treats for Friendship

Poke Puffs and Malasadas serve one focused purpose, raising a Pokemon's Friendship. Every Poke Puff gives the same boost, so they are reliable and easy to stockpile. Malasadas are more nuanced and scale their effect based on the nature of the Pokemon you feed them to. A handy trick is to eat these treats yourself while sneaking, which unlocks unique player-side effects instead.

Poke Beans, Beanstalks, and New Recipes

Poke Beans come in five colors (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Orange). You gather Bean Seeds from Short Grass or loot them from Village chests, then plant them to grow tall Beanstalks. The harvested beans feed back into the new food recipes, work as Cobblemon feed, and can even be eaten by you in a pinch.

The mod also adds the Fruit Punch from Scarlet and Violet, the Protein Smoothie from Pokemon Sleep, and four drinks from Cafe ReMix (Teddiursa Iced Coffee, Lilligant Floral Tea, Miltank Mix Au Lait, and Bouncy Brionne Soda).

How to Install CobbleCuisine

Because this is a Cobblemon addon, you need the base mod running first. The full walkthrough in our how to install Minecraft mods guide covers the loader setup step by step, but the short version is simple.

1. Install the loader your Cobblemon instance already uses.
2. Drop CobbleCuisine's JAR into your mods folder alongside Cobblemon and its dependencies.
3. Launch the game and back up your world first, since the mod is still flagged as beta.

The effect durations and strengths are all configurable through MidnightLib, so you can tune the balance for your server or single-player world. Does CobbleCuisine need Cobblemon installed?

Yes. It is an addon, not a standalone food mod. Without Cobblemon present it has nothing to attach its spawn powers and berry mechanics to.

Can I eat the Pokemon food myself?

You can. Feeding these items to your own Pokemon is the default behavior, but sneaking while you consume them flips them over to the player and applies their secret effects to you instead.

Why did my spawn power not work?

Spawn effects respect biome rules. If the dish is meant to lure Ice types and you eat it inside a desert or a fiery cave, the effect has no valid target to pull. Move to a matching biome and the effect engages.

Are the effect strengths adjustable?

They are. MidnightLib exposes every duration and multiplier as a config option, which is useful if a single dish is overtuned for your setup.

Is the mod still in active development?

The most recent release landed in November 2025. The project page notes the mod is still in beta, so keep world backups before each update and check the source repo for the current status.
