Create Hypertubes brings the conveyor-tube travel system from the factory game Satisfactory straight into your Minecraft world. Built as an addon for the Create mod, it lets you lay down sleek transport tubes that whisk players, mobs, and items across huge distances in seconds. If your base already runs on cogwheels and rotation, this transportation layer slots in like it was always part of the kit.

How Create Hypertubes Works

The core idea is simple. You place a Hypertube Entrance, spin it up with a cogwheel, and chain tube segments into curves, straightaways, or wild spirals. Step into a powered entrance and you are launched through the tube at high speed, exiting wherever the line ends.

It is more flexible than a minecart track and far more fun to look at. Long straight runs make great fast-travel highways between bases, while curving tubes let you thread through terrain without flattening everything in your path.

Powering the Network

Hypertubes run on the same rotational energy the rest of Create uses. That means you can drive your travel network off an existing water wheel, steam engine, or gearbox setup. Power a Hypertube Entrance with a cogwheel and the segment is live.

Riding in First Person

By default you travel in third person so you can admire the route. If you want the full rush of blasting down a tube, flip on FPV mode in the config files and the camera snaps to first person for a genuine sense of speed.

Tube Entrance Modes and Customization

A wrench is your main tuning tool. Right-click a Hypertube Entrance to cycle its mode and decide how travelers get pulled in.

  • Automatic Lock Mode sucks in anything that steps on the entrance, perfect for hands-free fast-travel hubs. Sneak to avoid being grabbed if you just want to walk past.
  • Other modes give you more control over who enters and when, useful for stations that should only trigger on demand.

The same wrench also reshapes tube connections, so you can clean up junctions and make the network look exactly how you want.

Mobs, Automation, and Attachments

Tubes are not just for you. Fish and villagers can ride the network too, and so can other mobs. Flip on Automatic Lock Mode near a pen or pond and watch them get ferried down the line, which opens up some creative mob-transport and farm designs.

Attachments take things further. They can automate tube behavior or detect travelers as they pass, which pairs nicely with redstone contraptions. The mod also ships a Tube Accelerator to keep speed high on long runs and a Hypertube Cannon that launches you out the end for a Satisfactory-style exit.

Setting Up Your Hypertube Network

Building a working line takes only a few steps.

  1. Craft a Hypertube Entrance and place it where you want travelers to start.
  2. Spin up the entrance with a cogwheel connected to your Create power source.
  3. Lay tube segments from the entrance to your destination, bending them into curves or keeping them straight as you like.
  4. Step on the powered entrance and ride.

Installing the Mod

Because Hypertubes is a Create addon, you need both Create and a compatible mod loader running first. The general walkthrough in our Minecraft Forge setup guide covers the loader side, and our broader how to install Minecraft mods primer walks through dropping the JAR files into your mods folder. Drop in Create first, then add the Hypertubes jar, and launch.

For something a little different in the travel department once your tubes are running, the Glide mod is a fun companion.

Create Hypertubes FAQ

Is Create Hypertubes still being updated?

Yes. The project is in active development, with the most recent release dating to June 2026. The author notes it is still alpha software, so expect new features and the occasional bug as work continues.

Does it need the Create mod?

It does. Hypertubes is an addon, not a standalone mod, so Create has to be installed and running for anything to work. It targets the modern Create 0.5.1 and the newer 6.0.x line.

Can I use it on a server?

Yes. The mod runs on both client and server, so everyone on a multiplayer world can build and ride the tubes together. Make sure both sides carry the same mod versions.

Can mobs really travel through the tubes?

They can. Fish, villagers, and other mobs can be sent through once Automatic Lock Mode is enabled. It is treated as an experimental feature, so you can switch it off in the config if it causes trouble in your setup.

Where do I report bugs or suggest features?

The author collects bug reports and feature requests on the project GitHub repo. That is the best channel for tracking issues and seeing what is planned next, including colored tubes and a tube splitter.
