Finding the Keptris Tree

Your journey starts by locating the Keptris Tree, a rare glowing tree that spawns in open fields. Its dark gray bark and stark white wood pair beautifully with stone, which makes it a favorite for builders who want a moody accent block. You can also grow one yourself once an Altar of Kyrii is up and running.

Unlike ordinary saplings, the Keptris Tree needs a spark of magic to propagate. Place a sapling on top of the Altar of Kyrii to grow an Ancient Keptris tree, and bonemeal will speed the process along.

Summoning Your First Faerie

Crafting a Faerie Oblation

Start by crafting a Faerie Oblation. The current method infuses Lapis Lazuli into a Diamond on the Altar of Kyrii, so gather those resources before you begin.

Presenting the Offering

With the oblation ready, place it in the final slot on the right side of the Altar and wait. A new Faerie will emerge shortly. Right-click the base of the Faerie Woodling to release it without breaking the block.

Building a Faerie Lantern

Your faeries need a home base nearby. Craft a Faerie Lantern from Keptris Logs, sticks, and glass, then place it close to their Keptris Tree so they have somewhere to rest.

Putting Faeries to Work

Once summoned, a faerie takes orders from the item you hold. Right-click it with wheat and it will wander off to gather wheat for you. Drop a chest near their lantern and add an item frame showing what you want collected, and the faerie will deposit matching drops inside.

Faeries also harvest and replant crops automatically. Set a few loose near your wheat or carrot fields and they will keep the harvest cycle running while you focus on building.
