Ultimate Enchantment | Boss-Kill Enchanting Tiers
Ultimate Enchantment adds over ten powerful enchantments gated behind boss fights like the Ender Dragon, the Wither, and the Warden in survival.
Every long-running survival world hits the same enchanting wall. You grind to a maxed table, roll god-tier gear, and then the system goes quiet, because Sharpness V and Protection IV are the ceiling. Ultimate Enchantment breaks past that with more than ten enchantments, and its strongest ones are not for sale at the table at all. The top tiers are earned by killing bosses, so your endgame gear tells the story of your endgame fights. Around 30 thousand players have picked it up, and the author credits Hypixel SkyBlock as the inspiration.

Boss-Kill Enchantments: Ultimate, Legend, and Last Stand
The three headline enchantments are all Ultimate tier, and each one is tied to a specific boss. Kill the Ender Dragon to obtain Ultimate, an enchantment that boosts the levels of your other enchantments. Kill the Wither for Legend, which raises your attributes. Kill the Warden for Last Stand. The author also moved Mending into the Legendary tier, reasoning that it is too powerful to sit in a normal table pool, which tells you exactly where the power bar sits in this mod.
By default an item can hold only one Ultimate enchantment, so every boss kill is a real decision about where that slot goes. Several names will look familiar if you have played Hypixel SkyBlock. Last Stand, Vanquisher, Life Steal, Mana Steal, and Cut Down all match SkyBlock enchantment names, but this is an original implementation for standard survival, not a port.

The Full Enchantment List, From Vanquisher to Double Hook
In total the mod ships more than ten enchantments. Names confirmed across its update logs include Vanquisher, Life Steal, Mana Steal, Cut Down, Lethal Tempo, Tear, Kinetic Energy, Thunder Bolt, Quick Bait, and Double Hook. The last two are fishing rod enchantments added in the July 2025 update, which also introduced Lethal Tempo, Tear, Kinetic Energy, and Thunder Bolt. That same patch rebalanced the roster, strengthening Tear while weakening Life Steal, Mana Steal, Vanquisher, and Cut Down. Syphon and Terminator existed in early builds and were removed later, so older lists that mention them are out of date.
There is also a page section called ApothicEnchantingAddition, currently listing two enchantments. Based on the name it appears to hook into Apothic Enchanting, the enchanting overhaul from Apotheosis, but the project page never spells the integration out. Treat it as a bonus layer rather than a confirmed feature.

Config Options and Tags for Modpack Makers
Pack makers get real hooks here. Adding the tag ultimate_enchantment:ultimate_enchantment to any enchantment promotes it to Ultimate tier, and ultimate_enchantment:legendary_enchantment does the same for the Legendary tier, so you can fold other mods' enchants into this progression. The author openly encourages integration authors to re-gate most of these enchantments behind specific acquisition methods other than the table. The MIT license keeps all of that legally simple.
The July 2025 update expanded the config side too. One toggle controls whether Ultimate enchantments stay mutually exclusive, which is the switch behind the one-per-item rule. Another lets you blacklist attributes that Legend is not allowed to boost, which matters when your pack stacks attribute-heavy mods. Early builds required Apothic Attributes and Placebo, but the current release dropped both and lists no required dependencies. One thing to test on day one: two of the mod's crash fixes involved creatures with empty or missing loot tables, so packs that strip vanilla loot should verify a few boss fights early.

How to Install Ultimate Enchantment
- Set up a loader. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge. The NeoForge build is the current branch and the only one with the July 2025 enchantments and config options. The Forge build is an older branch that stopped getting content updates earlier in 2025. If loaders are new to you, start with our full mod installation guide.
- Follow a loader walkthrough. Our NeoForge install guide and Forge guide cover each setup step by step.
- Download the jar. Grab the Ultimate Enchantment file that matches your loader and your Minecraft version from the official project page.
- Drop it in your mods folder. On a standard install that folder lives at .minecraft/mods.
- Handle multiplayer. The project page does not list client or server requirements, so install the mod on the server as well as your client. That covers both possibilities.
- Launch and verify. Start the game with the matching loader profile and confirm the mod appears in your mod list.
Ultimate Enchantment FAQ
Can I put multiple Ultimate enchantments on one item? Not by default. The one-per-item rule is the intended balance, but the July 2025 update added a config toggle that switches the mutual exclusivity off if you want a looser setup.
Is Ultimate Enchantment client-side or server-side? The project page does not list side requirements either way. Treat it as a both-sides mod and install it on the server too when you play multiplayer.
Does Ultimate Enchantment require other mods? Older releases needed Apothic Attributes and Placebo. The July 2025 build removed both dependencies and currently lists none, so you can run it standalone.
Is Ultimate Enchantment still being updated? First released in late 2024, with the latest release landing in July 2025. One of its two loader branches stopped earlier that year and never received the July content, so check the file list on the official project page and grab the build that matches your setup.
That is the whole loop: fight bosses, earn tiers, and build gear no table could produce. When you want more, Alessandrv's Enchantments adds another batch of fresh enchants, and MC Dungeons Enchanting reworks the enchanting table itself into a deeper progression system.
