Simple Harvesting | Harvest and Replant in One Right Click
Simple Harvesting makes farming painless. Right-click any crop to harvest and replant it, or right-click with a hoe to take a whole patch at once.
The first time you load Simple Harvesting, the difference shows up the second you walk up to a fully grown crop row. Right-click one plant, the crop harvests on the spot, and the mod handles the replanting for you. No breaking by hand, no second pass over the field to push seeds back into the dirt, no crouching around for hours. That single change is the core idea behind the mod, and at roughly 49 thousand downloads, a lot of farmers have already folded it into their load order.

Right-Click Harvesting With Automatic Replanting
Vanilla farming runs on a two-step routine for every single block. You break the crop, then you come back to the exact same spots to plant the seeds again. That doubles the work on ground you already covered once.
Simple Harvesting compresses all of it into one action. Right-click a fully grown crop and it harvests instantly, then automatically replants the seeds in the same block. One interaction, harvest and replant both handled, and you keep walking the row without pausing at every tile. On a farm that runs dozens of blocks in each direction, that cuts most of the busywork out of every harvest cycle.
Area Harvest Sweeps a Field With a Hoe
Right-clicking with your hand keeps things precise. Right-clicking with a hoe turns each click into a wide sweep.
Hold a hoe and right-click any crop. The mod harvests every crop of the same type within a 2-block radius of the one you clicked. Aim at the middle of your wheat field and the whole patch comes in at once instead of you working block by block down the rows. Anything of a different crop type inside that radius stays alone, so a mixed garden keeps its layout while you take one patch at a time.
The 2-block radius is also adjustable. The settings live in the config folder inside your Minecraft directory, and you can edit the radiuses there to match huge fields or snug garden plots.
There is a parallel trick for miners too. VeinMiner applies the same spread-out logic to ores, so you break a single ore block and the whole connected vein comes with it.
Clear Naturally Growing Plants With the Hoe
The hoe picks up a third job away from the farm. Right-clicking with one destroys any naturally growing plants on grass within a 2-block radius.
Open ground near your base usually has low plant life scattered across the grass, and clearing it by hand is slow. A few hoe clicks strips natural plants across the whole patch, which speeds up carving out build sites, paths, and the fresh dirt you want to turn into new fields. Since the effect only targets naturally growing plants, it works as a cleanup tool rather than a second way to harvest.
How to Install Simple Harvesting
This is a both-sides mod, so it has to run on the client and on the server. Single-player users install it once, and multiplayer groups set it up in two places.
- Set up a mod loader. Simple Harvesting runs on Fabric and Forge, so pick whichever you already use or prefer. If you have never added a mod before, start with our how to install Minecraft mods guide, then follow the Fabric guide or the Forge guide for the loader setup.
- Download Simple Harvesting from the official project page. The download table there lists the available files, so grab the one that matches your loader and your Minecraft version.
- Drop the .jar file into your mods folder inside .minecraft.
- Launch the game and test it. Right-click a fully grown crop with your hand to confirm the instant harvest and replant kick in.
- For multiplayer, add the same .jar to the server's mods folder and restart it. Every player who joins also needs the mod installed on their own side.
Simple Harvesting FAQ
Does Simple Harvesting work on multiplayer servers? Yes. The mod is required on both the client and the server, so install a copy on the server and make sure every joining player has it in their own mods folder as well.
Can I change the harvest radius? Yes. The hoe features default to a 2-block radius, and the radius settings sit in the config folder inside your Minecraft directory. Edit them there to widen the sweep for big open fields or pull it in for tight garden rows.
Does Simple Harvesting impact performance? Not in any way you should stress about. It is a small utility whose harvesting logic only reacts when you interact with a crop, so there is no constant background work running behind the scenes.
Is Simple Harvesting still maintained? Yes. Its most recent update released in September 2026, which keeps the project in active maintenance territory, and an issue tracker is linked on the official project page for bug reports.
One right-click for the basics and one hoe pass for the wide sweep, and the daily farm loop gets a lot shorter. If small, vanilla-shaped fixes are your favorite kind of change, V-Tweaks layers a whole set of quality-of-life mechanics over everything else you do.
