Dusty Decorations is a rustic Minecraft decoration mod that drops a large set of port and market themed blocks into your world. Whether you build fishing villages, busy market stalls, or just want a cabin that feels properly furnished, these blocks fill the empty corners vanilla leaves behind. Many of them ship with randomized textures and models, so two barrels placed side by side rarely look identical.

Rustic Blocks for Ports and Markets

The decoration set leans hard into a weathered, seaside aesthetic. Food barrels come in flavors like potatoes, apples, cod, and berries.

Hanging fish dangle from rope and connect to chains or beams above them, which works well inside a fishmonger's shop or above a kitchen counter.

Shelves pull double duty as display surfaces and tables, letting you show off books, food, or trophies.

Kitchen, Clutter, and Storage Pieces

A lot of the mod's personality lives in the smaller clutter blocks. Hanging knives add a touch of realism to a kitchen or tavern wall.

Posters and scattered paper arrive with randomized designs, from maps to handbills, and they look at home on walls and floors alike.

Rope is rotatable and climbable, opening up rigging, netting, and other build tricks that vanilla can't do.

Jars come in a range of colors and textures, perfect for filling shelf gaps or adding display variety.

Metal, Awnings, and Display Blocks

Corrugated metal brings a rusty, aged look to roofs and awnings, with a few texture variants to pick from.

Wedged knives and cutting boards let you stage a busy prep surface, and the cutting board is also placeable on its own.

Cluttered shelves and small bookshelves use randomized textures, so each one lands a little differently.

Books and book stacks can sit on a shelf or pile up on the floor.

Paper stacks layer on shelves or stand alone.

Awnings fit neatly over windows or under carpet roofs, adding warmth to market fronts.

Seaside and Kitchen Decor

The maritime blocks are where the port theme really shows. Life preservers, anchors, large and small glass buoys, and a treasure map are perfect for staging a harbor scene.

Wooden buoys hang from rope in bright colors and make great wall decor.

Cooking pots, frying pans, a pots-and-pans stack, and a placeable bowl round out a crowded kitchen.

How to Install Dusty Decorations

Every block in the mod is craftable in survival with straightforward recipes, so you can use it in a normal playthrough rather than only in creative. The setup follows the standard mod install flow.

  1. Install your loader of choice first. If you need a primer, our how to install Minecraft mods walkthrough covers the basics, and the Fabric and Forge guides go deeper on each platform.
  2. Download the matching JAR for your loader and drop it in the mods folder.
  3. Recent builds require the GeckoLib library mod to be present, since several animated and randomized models depend on it. Install that JAR the same way before launching.

Once both JARs are in place, launch the game and the new decorative blocks appear in your creative inventory and become craftable in survival. If you want even more build variety, pair it with the cozy furniture in our Handcrafted overview or the glassware from the Decorative Bottles mod.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dusty Decorations still being updated?

Yes. The project shipped a new build in April 2026 (version 1.13), and the source repo on GitHub stays active. Check the project page for the most current release and any loader changes.

Do I need any other mods for it to work?

Recent versions depend on the GeckoLib library mod, which handles the animation and randomized models for several blocks. Older builds have no required dependencies, so confirm what your specific version asks for before launching.

Can I use these blocks in survival?

Yes. Every block has a simple crafting recipe, so you can gather materials and build with them in a normal survival world rather than switching to creative.

Does it work on multiplayer servers?

The mod runs in both client and server environments. Make sure every player and the server itself have the mod and its dependency installed, or the decorative blocks will not render correctly.

Will builds look repetitive with so many copies of the same block?

Not really. Many of the blocks use randomized textures and models, so barrels, jars, cluttered shelves, and scattered paper change their look from placement to placement and keep large builds from feeling stamped out.
