VillageRevival Mod | Reworked Villages
VillageRevival reworks plains and taiga villages with bigger buildings, gravel paths, lanterns, and decorative details for a more vibrant overworld.
VillageRevival is a world-generation mod that reworks vanilla Minecraft villages in the Plains and Taiga biomes, giving them a more vibrant, lived-in look while keeping the default block palette. If you have ever walked into a plains village and felt the houses were a little flat, this mod is aimed at you. It revamps every structure in those two village types, adds depth with extra logs and stairs, and lines the paths with fences and lanterns so the whole settlement reads like a small town instead of a handful of copy-pasted huts.
What VillageRevival Changes in Plains and Taiga Villages
The first thing you will notice is the ground. The plain dirt paths that vanilla villages use are replaced with gravel and coarse dirt for added texture, and they are lined with fences and lanterns that guide you through the village at night. The mod also scatters hay bales, carts, crates, and custom vegetation around the area, so each settlement feels busier and more hand-built.

The buildings get a considerable makeover too. Houses gain depth from extra logs, stairs, and planks in their frames, while doors pick up leaves above them and lamp posts on the corners. Even the farms get more hay bales, fences, and lamps, so the agricultural plots stop looking like an afterthought. Because every block used is a standard Minecraft block, the reworked villages still blend into a vanilla world without clashing with other mods.

How to Install VillageRevival
The mod ships in two variants, one for Fabric and one for Forge, so pick the jar that matches your loader.
- Install your loader first. For the Fabric route, set up Fabric and add the Fabric API. For the Forge route, install Minecraft Forge.
- Drop the VillageRevival jar into your
.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch the game with the matching profile and load a world with plains or taiga villages nearby.
If you are new to modded Minecraft generally, the how to install Minecraft mods walkthrough covers the full setup. The mod runs on both client and server, so it works in singleplayer and on multiplayer worlds as long as everyone is running the same build.
VillageRevival Compatibility and FAQ
Does VillageRevival change other biomes besides Plains and Taiga?
No. This Plains Edition reworks only Plains and Taiga villages. The developer has indicated future updates may tackle other biome village types, but for now those are the two affected.
Does it add any new blocks or items?
No new blocks or items are added. Every reworked structure is built from vanilla Minecraft blocks, which is what keeps the look consistent with the base game and friendly to texture packs.
Is a server-side install required?
The mod works on both client and server. For a multiplayer server, every player needs the jar, and the server needs it too so the world generation matches.
Will it conflict with other village mods?
It can. Other village overhaul mods like Better Villages or ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village also replace vanilla village structures, so running more than one together can cause overlapping or broken generation. Test in a throwaway world first.
