Enchantment Reveal is a client-side Minecraft mod by CrownSheep that previews every enchantment the table can roll before you commit. Instead of gambling levels on vague hints, you see exactly what each enchantment level will give you, weigh your options, and pick the best enchants for your gear.

What Is Enchantment Reveal?

Vanilla Minecraft's enchanting table hides the outcome behind cryptic glyphs and a random seed, so you spend levels and lapis without knowing what you'll get. Enchantment Reveal replaces that gamble with transparency. Open the enchantment table on an eligible item and the mod lists every enchantment available at each level, with a short tooltip describing what each one does.

Hover any enchantment to read its effect, then choose the level that gives you the combination you actually want. No more wasted rolls on Protection IV when you were hoping for Feather Falling.

What Enchantment Reveal Adds

The mod keeps vanilla mechanics intact and only changes what the table reveals:

  • Full enchantment preview: every possible outcome for your item at each level, shown in one GUI.
  • Hover tooltips: mouse over each enchantment to see what it does before you pick.
  • No core changes: enchanting costs, level requirements, and lapis costs behave exactly like vanilla. You simply see the result ahead of time.

Compatibility and Known Issues

  • Singleplayer only. Because of how vanilla saves player data, the mod does not work on servers, even though it is client-side. Stick to singleplayer worlds.
  • No NeoForge or Quilt. The author has said no other loader builds are planned.
  • Version ceiling. The mod has not been updated for recent Minecraft releases, so check the supported version list before updating.
  • Modpack-friendly. The MIT license permits inclusion in modpacks and videos. You just cannot backport it or port it to Bedrock.

FAQ

Does Enchantment Reveal change how enchanting works? No. Costs, level requirements, and the random pool stay vanilla. The mod only shows you the outcome before you commit.

Can I use it on a multiplayer server? Not effectively. The author notes the mod only works in singleplayer due to how vanilla handles player data on servers.

Is it allowed in modpacks? Yes. Under the MIT license you can include Enchantment Reveal in modpacks and videos. Backporting or porting to Bedrock is not permitted.
