Marium's Soulslike Weaponry is a Minecraft combat overhaul that drops 40+ legendary weapons and a roster of brutal boss fights into your world. It leans hard into soulslike territory, with a posture meter, shield parries, and multi-phase encounters that punish button mashing. If vanilla combat has started to feel thin, this mod gives you a genuine endgame to grind toward.

What Marium's Soulslike Weaponry Adds

The mod is built on three pillars. Legendary weapons with unique active abilities and passive effects. A lineup of hand-designed bosses, most of them summoned through specific rituals. And a layer of supporting gear, ores, and enchantments that ties the whole loop together. Most legendary weapons are crafted from Lord Souls dropped by these bosses, including the vanilla Wither and Ender Dragon, so every fight pushes you toward a stronger kit.

Blocks, Ores, and Crafting Items

Blackstone Pedestal: Right-click it with a Shard of Uncertainty to summon the Monarch of Chaos, or with a Withered Demon Heart to summon the Decaying King.

Moonstone Ore and Block of Moonstone: Found around diamond depth, used to craft Moonstone tools and armor.

Old Moon Altar: Right-click with a Lost Soul to summon the Returning Knight, or with an Essence of Eventide to summon the Fallen Icon.

Lord Souls: Dropped by the mod's bosses and by the vanilla Ender Dragon and Wither. They are the core crafting ingredient for most legendary weapons.

Lost Soul: A new soul type used to craft items and summon bosses.

Lunar Ring: Grants the Lunar Herald status effect, which lets you summon Moonlight beams.

Moonstone Compass: Points to the nearest Decaying Kingdom in the Nether or the nearest Champion's Graves in the overworld.

Moonstone Tools: Crafted with Moonstone and a single piece of Verglas. They beat Diamond for efficiency, though Netherite still wins out.

Shard of Uncertainty and Withered Demon Heart: Dropped by the Wither. Use either on the Blackstone Pedestal to summon the Monarch of Chaos or the Decaying King.

Enchantments and Combat Effects

Fast Hands, Posture Breaker, and Stagger round out the enchantment pool. Fast Hands cuts cooldowns on gun items and shortens bow draw time.

Posture Breaker (Visceral) buffs gun items, raising the chance that Silver Bullets inflict the Posture Break effect. Arrows get half that chance.

Stagger applies to swords. After you land a hit, there is a chance to slow the target briefly, scaling with enchant level. Heavy blades like the Darkin Blade and Nightfall get a higher base chance.

Status effects drive most of the combat feel. Fear hits undead caught in a Dawnbreaker explosion, scrambling their pathing with no effect on players. Purified Mist damages every non-player mob in the cloud while healing players instead. Posture Break freezes a mob in place and opens it to bonus instant damage on the next hit. Lunar Herald lets you channel Moonlight beams by holding the attack button. Permafrost acts like powder snow, slowing and then damaging the victim, and when the victim dies it detonates in an ice burst that freezes everything nearby.

New Mobs

Moderately Sized Chungus are joke mobs that spawn in forests at night. They attack absurdly fast and drop Chungus Emeralds, which craft into a music disc.

Forlorn are forgotten elite soldiers you can summon with the Soul Reaper. They carry the Heap of Raw Iron or the Forlorn Scythe, and right-clicking makes them hold position. Forlorn spawn in Forlorn armor that matches diamond, and hostile variants can appear in the Soul Sand Valley.

Soulmass are clusters of trapped souls, summoned by the Soul Reaper with at least 30 soul charges. They defend you with ranged spells, and right-clicking parks them while a soul circle heals them overhead.

Boss Fights

The Old Champion's Remains spawns in Old Champion's Graves. It is a skeletal vessel possessed by the Frenzied Shade, and the fight hinges on whether it is guarding with its shield. In defensive stance it moves slower but takes reduced damage from everything, on top of several other passive buffs and penalties.

The Fallen Icon is a hardened Returning Knight, summoned with the Essence of Eventide on the Old Moon Altar. It opens with the Unbreakable effect, inflicting Weakness, Nausea, and Slowness on nearby players. It does not get the Returning Knight's bonus Resistance, and because the true soul has been returned to the vessel its dark power is slightly suppressed, so it cannot reflect projectiles though it stays immune to them. Killing it drops the Essence of Luminescence, the key ingredient for the Pure Moonlight Greatsword.

The Day Stalker is a hidden boss with no in-game description. It hits hard enough to drop most players inside two swings, so most footage of it is two of them fighting each other.

Weapons and Armor

The mod's name says it. The roster of weapons is large, and each one has its own active ability and effect. Some look holy, some are cursed, and the screenshots below give a feel for the overall vibe without spoiling every stat.

That is the tip of the iceberg. The mod adds far more than what is shown here, so the official wiki is worth a read for the full item list. For a sharper combat feel, pair it with the Better Combat overhaul.

How to Install Marium's Soulslike Weaponry

The mod runs on Fabric and Forge. Grab the matching loader, drop the jar into your mods folder, and add the required dependencies, which are Fabric API, GeckoLib, and AttributeFix. For a full walkthrough on setting up a loader first, see our guide to installing Minecraft mods, or go straight to the Fabric and Forge setup pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the posture system work?

Every mob that can be parried has a posture meter. Shield bashes and certain weapon hits fill it, and once it is full the target suffers Posture Break, freezing them in place and opening a window for bonus instant damage.

Do I need the vanilla Wither and Ender Dragon?

Yes, and that is intentional. Lord Souls, the main crafting ingredient for most legendary weapons, drop from those vanilla bosses as well as the mod's own. You will want to fight both before the strongest gear is within reach.

Can I tune the difficulty?

Almost everything is configurable. Boss health, boss damage, weapon damage, and ability cooldowns all have config entries, so you can dial the challenge up or down without editing files by hand.

Is Marium's Soulslike Weaponry still maintained?

The source repo on GitHub stays active, with commits landing as recently as June 2026. For the current release state, check the project page.

Does it work with other combat mods?

It pairs well with Better Combat for reworked animations. As with any content-heavy mod, test new packs in a throwaway world first, since boss scripts and weapon effects can clash with other overhauls.
