Simple HUD Enhanced | Custom HUD Mod
Simple HUD Enhanced is a lightweight Fabric mod that turns the Minecraft HUD into a customizable info panel with coordinates, FPS, biome, and more.
Simple HUD Enhanced is a client-side Fabric mod that reworks the Minecraft heads-up display into something you actually control. Instead of relying on the debug screen every time you want your coordinates or FPS, you get a tidy on-screen panel you can move, resize, and recolor to match how you play.

The mod runs lightweight and stays out of your way. You toggle the pieces you want, hide the rest, and arrange everything through an in-game config screen rather than editing JSON by hand.

What the HUD Can Show You
Every element below can be turned on or off individually, and most of them accept custom position, size, color, and transparency settings.
- Coordinates with facing direction so you always know where you are and which way you are heading.
- Chunk and sub-chunk coordinates for precise positioning when you are building or chunk-loading.
- FPS counter to keep an eye on how smoothly the game is running.
- Velocity (vertical and horizontal) for tracking elytra flight, boat speed, or fall rate.
- Light level of the block you stand on, handy for mob-proofing your base.
- Server ping to gauge how responsive a multiplayer server feels.
- Current biome so you always know what you are walking through.
- In-game time and day counter in 12 or 24 hour format, plus a running day count.
- System time in 12 or 24 hour format for checking the real clock without alt-tabbing.
- Nether companions showing who else is currently in the Nether with you.
- Status effect ring timer that wraps your character and counts down active buffs and debuffs at a glance.
- Movement status icons for sprinting, swimming, flying, and sneaking.
- Armor and item durability plus count displayed directly on the HUD.
- Paper doll, a small animated avatar that mirrors your gear, pose, and status.

Configuring Your Layout
You do most of your tweaking through the Mod Menu mod, which adds a settings button to the title and pause screens. Open the menu, pick Simple HUD Enhanced, and you land in a live editor where dragging repositions elements and sliders adjust scale, color, and transparency. Changes apply instantly, so you can see the result without leaving the screen.
If you would rather not install Mod Menu, the same options live in a config file you can edit by hand. The in-game editor is the faster path for most players.
Installing Simple HUD Enhanced
This is a client-side mod, so it only needs to go on the machine you play on rather than on a server.
- Install Fabric and the matching Fabric API for your game version.
- Download the Simple HUD Enhanced JAR that matches your version.
- Drop the JAR into your
.minecraft/modsfolder. - (Recommended) Add Mod Menu so you can configure the HUD in-game.
- Launch the game and arrange your panel.

Compatibility Notes
Simple HUD Enhanced is built for Fabric and runs client-side only, which means you can join vanilla servers with it installed. It plays nicely with utility mods like Trinkets, and the recent 4.7.5 releases moved HUD processing onto a separate thread that updates once per tick instead of every frame, which keeps the render loop smooth even with many elements enabled. The project saw a fresh release in June 2026, so check the project page for the most current build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install any dependencies?
Fabric API is required. Mod Menu is optional but strongly recommended because it gives you the in-game configuration screen.
Can I use this on a server?
Yes. Because the mod is client-side, you can join normal servers with it. Other players do not need it installed.
Does it work with shader packs?
Yes. The 4.7.5 line ships with full Vulkan and OpenGL rendering support, so it plays well with modern shader packs.
Is there a Forge or NeoForge version?
No. The project targets Fabric only. If you are on a different loader, look for a separate HUD utility mod that supports it.
Where do I report a bug or request a feature?
The maintainer tracks issues on the GitHub source repo and runs a community Discord for questions and suggestions.
