Halo Arsenal Inside Minecraft

MCHalo by AzureDoom ports the most recognizable gear from the Halo franchise straight into Minecraft. The mod recreates the look, feel, firing, reloading, and sounds of classic Halo firearms alongside the lethal Energy Sword and a deployable Prop Shield, giving survival worlds and PvP arenas a distinctly Spartan flavor. Everything routes through one crafting block, so the arsenal unlocks progressively as you gather materials instead of landing in your inventory all at once.

The Weapon Crafter Block

Before you fire a single shot you need to build the Weapon Crafter. This custom block unlocks the recipes for every Halo item the mod adds. Keep the required materials in your inventory, open the crafter, and select the weapon you want. Recipes call for everyday Minecraft materials like iron, gold, and gunpowder, so you can ease into the arsenal without hunting obscure ores.

To start crafting, have the needed materials in your inventory and select the item you want to build.

Weapons That Feel Like Halo

The roster covers both human and Covenant favorites. The Battle Rifle fires in short bursts and reloads with bullet clips just like in the games. The Shotgun, Magnum, Sniper Rifle, and Rocket Launcher each carry their own handling and audio, while the Needler, Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle, and Brute Shot round out the alien side of the lineup. Weapon models are made by artist Yanasenpai, and the firing and reload animations echo their source material closely enough that longtime Halo players will recognize them on sight.

For example, the Battle Rifle fires in short bursts and reloads using bullet clips, matching its behavior in the Halo games.

Ammo and the Reload Mechanic

The mod adds bullet clips, shotgun shells, and sniper rounds as dedicated ammo types for the new guns. To reload, hold the matching ammo in your inventory or off-hand and press R. The reload key is configurable in the options menu, so you can remap it if R clashes with another mod.

Energy Sword and Prop Shield

Ranged weapons are only half the kit. The Energy Sword serves as the franchise's signature melee option, and the Prop Shield gives you a defensive tool for blocking incoming fire. Together they round out a loadout that plays like a compact Halo sandbox inside Minecraft.

How to Install MCHalo

  1. Install a supported mod loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge). The mod also runs on Quilt.
  2. Add the required library mods AzureLib and Common Network to your mods folder.
  3. Drop the MCHalo jar into the same mods folder.
  4. Launch the game with your loader profile and place the Weapon Crafter to get started.

New to modded Minecraft? The general mod install guide walks through the mods folder step by step. If you want broader melee combat to pair with your new arsenal, Better Combat and Marium's Soulslike Weaponry both complement the ranged focus here.

FAQ

Is MCHalo still being updated?

The source repository was archived in late 2024, and the most recent releases target older Minecraft builds. Existing versions still run with their supported loaders, but do not expect new content or bug fixes for current Minecraft releases.

Do I need other mods for it to run?

Yes. AzureLib and Common Network are required library mods. Place them in your mods folder alongside MCHalo or the weapons will not load.

Can I use the weapons on a server?

Yes. MCHalo runs on both client and server, so a dedicated server hosting the mod will let every connected player craft and use the arsenal.

Does it work across different loaders?

Yes. The mod publishes builds for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt, and it is compatible with the Sinytra Connector for cross-loader setups.

How do I reload?

Hold the matching ammo in your inventory or off-hand and press R. The key is remappable in the controls menu.
