Medieval Buildings End Edition adds five medieval structures to Minecraft's End islands, each packed with loot, traps, and hostile mobs to raid.

The End dimension in Minecraft is famously sparse: a few end cities and a whole lot of empty void between them. Medieval Buildings End Edition fixes that by scattering medieval castles, houses, pyramids, ships, and shrines across the End islands, so you have a real reason to keep exploring after the Ender Dragon falls. It is a structure addon built for adventure players who want fresh loot runs and danger on every island.

What Is Medieval Buildings End Edition?

Medieval Buildings End Edition is a structure-generation mod by Craft1x that adds five new medieval-themed buildings to the End dimension. Unlike plain stone ruins, these structures are built from End-native blocks and lit up so they glow against the void, giving the End a fantasy-castle aesthetic.

Each structure is fully furnished inside and stocked with valuable loot, traps, and hostile mob spawners. You get the reward only if you survive the gauntlet.

What the End Edition Adds

Five structure types generate randomly across the End islands, each with its own layout, traps, and loot table:

  • Castle: a multi-room medieval keep with enchanted gear hidden deep inside.
  • House: a smaller furnished dwelling, quicker to clear but still trapped.
  • Pyramid: a temple-style structure with the toughest spawners and best loot.
  • Ship: a floating vessel that rewards careful navigation.
  • Shrine: a compact monument with a concentrated loot pile.

Inside each structure is a wealth of rewards if you can survive. Treasures like enchanted tools and armor are hidden inside alongside spawners spawning hordes of mobs at you.

How to Install Medieval Buildings End Edition

The mod runs on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge across a wide range of Minecraft versions, and it needs the Cloth Config API library installed alongside it. Setup is the same standard mod-install flow you already know:

  1. Install a mod loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) for your Minecraft version.
  2. Download Cloth Config API and drop it into your .minecraft/mods folder.
  3. Download Medieval Buildings End Edition using the download button on this page, then place the .jar in your .minecraft/mods folder.
  4. Launch Minecraft with the mod-loader profile and jump into the End.

If you're new to modded Minecraft generally, the how to install Minecraft mods walkthrough covers the basics end to end.

Compatibility and Known Issues

The author states the mod is fully compatible with other structure and biome mods. Structures only spawn in End biomes with characteristics similar to the vanilla End, so addons that add wildly different biomes won't break generation but may shift where buildings appear. It works on both client and server, so you can drop it into multiplayer servers and modpacks. No hard dependency beyond Cloth Config is required.

Want more structures to raid? Pair it with Immersive Structures for Overworld variety, Camps, Castles & Carriages for more keeps, or Flying Castles for sky-bound loot runs.

FAQ

Does Medieval Buildings End Edition work with the Overworld edition?

Yes. The End Edition is a companion to the main Medieval Buildings mod and the Nether Edition. They target different dimensions, so you can run all three together for full-coverage structure generation.

Do the structures spawn before I kill the Ender Dragon?

The structures are designed to appear across the End islands as you explore. Generating new chunks in the outer End after entering through the gateway is the most reliable way to find them.

Is Cloth Config API really required?

Yes. Cloth Config is the configuration library the mod uses to expose its frequency and generation settings, so the game will not load the mod without it installed.

Can I use it in a modpack?

Yes. The author permits use in modpacks as long as the pack is published as a modpack.

Does it work on multiplayer servers?

Yes. The mod is client-and-server compatible, so dropped into a server's mods folder it will generate the structures for everyone on the world.
